Redau, as Weby points out these are micropayments and it would not be practical to bill each one to Visa or MasterCard. Is the TPM capable of accumulating the micropayments into charges large enough to be practical. Is the TPM capable of holding a prepayment credit and then debiting micropayments ala the original EMBASSY chip?
If a prepayment scheme is used what happens when the payment is fully debited. Does internet activity cease until an additional prepayment is processed? Does internet processing stop with a predetermined amount remaining to enable secure processing of the new prepayment? Is the TPM capable of this kind of logic. Am I capable of this kind of logic.
These are the things going around in my head regarding the charging for security transactions. What schemes are available to recoup the expenses of running the security systems for retail clients. So far the only schemes i've see all seem to suggest a periodic flat fee. I don't see how this will provide for a payment to the box makers based on transactions, although they could be paid a percent of the flat fee based on the registered box for which the flat fee is paid.
