One thing to remember,
While Apple's total market share may indeed be small compared to all of the generic pc's out there, it is indeed growing by huge numbers and steadily because people like me who build pc's, (x86's etc.)and uses them are sick and tired of all the operating system problems and thousands of FIXES that one must download from MSFT in order to prevent this and correct that.
The one thing that is an absolute truth is the Apple is a more stable computer.
Also, I would not discount human behaviour too easily. People resist change and get comfortable with what they are using, so do not be so sure Janus is going to roll over an I-Pod and make it a non-remembered thing of the past. They LOVE familiarity and if it ain;t broke, they ain't going to fix it.

Is UNIX such a difficult operating system to write an app for?
Any real reason we can't pick up an extra percentage of the market?
Just looking at the broad picture

No more on Apple versus Janus from me either.
