Someone, who shall remain nameless:), earlier this evening felt the obvious need to continually press the issue concerning 800#s being a thing of the past in comparison to the internet.

Jeez, I guess that's why they had to go from only 800#s to 877 & 866# as well. Most well after the advent of the internet, I might add. It must've been because folks just wanted to be different and not for the sole lack of 800#s alone. Yeah, that's the ticket. Yeah, right!

The mobile society we live in also demands mobile solutions. Point in case, one of many, being summer's coming. That means folks on vacation and moving to new and strange places. Gee, I wonder what would be the easiest way for them to find what they need. Anyone have a clue? I can hear it now, 'Who wants pizza?'. 'Okay Bobby, do your text thing to that GO800# and get us some Dominoes'. 'Ah, never mind. It's easy enough. I'll do it myself. Besides, if I let you do it we'll wind up with something funky on it.':)

Concerns yet another/others have voiced, real or imagined, is that the only ones who text are kids who have little to no disposable income. That's a big old no on boths counts. First off, there's a whole bunch of folks up to and over the age of forty who use texting as a form of communication anymore. Also, there's many 'kids', sorry but anyone under thirty is a kid to me (sigh), who have more disposable income than their parents have at this point. That's not even counting real kids who get exhorbitant allowances.

In my mind, all that need be done is make this a conscience, go to choice amongst the millions, and growing, who text almost as naturally as they draw breath. Not only in this country, but worldwide. In my mind it'll be like a dominoe effect. In fact it'll be such a sweet a** thing to do that you won't be cool if you don't.

On another, but same, note, I had to take a trip to the emergency room of a local hospital today. During the five hours I was there I heard talk about texting amongst doctors, nurses and aids on a fairly frequent and continual basis as they passed by or were standing around where I was layed up.

What I'm getting at for the most is that this is no longer a phenomenon, but rather quickly becoming a way of life. And, God willing, those with a vested interest here are aboard a phenomenon that is about to be attached to the hip of that way of life.

Sorry to be so long winded, but it's my nature to be detail oriented. Just thought I'd run those thoughts by whomever cared to indulge in something to chew on for a late night snack.:)

At the very least, do no harm
