Japan Airlines (JAL) announced today that it is expanding its codeshare agreement with Australian carrier Jetstar Airways from 1 April 2010.

Under the expanded agreement JAL will place its 'JL' code on Jetstar's daily flights between Osaka (Kansai) and Cairns, which will be launched on 1 April.

The airlines have been bilateral partners since May 2007 and currently codeshare on Jetstar flights between Tokyo (Narita) and Cairns.

Reservations and ticket sales for the new codeshare flights will start on Thursday.
