In a formal presentation on the mining sector in Panama yesterday by MICI,(Ministry of Commerce and Industry), Roberto Henriquez Chief of MICI mentioned again that Petaquilla Minerals, Ltd. was the only company in Panama authorized to extract gold and other metals from the earth. He further explained that is the previous administration, institutions like the National Environmental Authority, (ANAM), had policies dedicated to shutting down this type of industry. He said that Petaquilla was monitored weekly and was always in compliance with rules and regulations.

IMO there is no question but that PTQ is very high on the priority list of the current administration and they will do everything necessary to see that it is successful.
