Shorting = short selling:

Short selling is when MM's (Market Makers) or perhaps even traders sell the sh*t out of something at a given price to drive the pps down so they can buy it back at a profit (more shares).

Naked short selling is when MM's don't even have any shares to sell but somehow manage to sell them anyway for the same reason listed above.

Dilution is when a company floods the market with new shares to raise capital.
