Sure .. a big land position at F A L C does have SOME value but I can go to any new discovery area and stake a gazillion acres of tie-on claims which are probably going to be barren of any economic mineral values. If I am one of the first into that area however, my tie-ons will be more valuable than tie-ons staked months later. It's like .. first comes get the best tie-ons.

Good point Gump. You are probably familiar with the goings-on at Voisey's Bay. After it was discovered (by a company looking for diamonds by the way) the largest staking rush in Labrador/Quebec history started. In spite of Voisey's Bay being taken over by Inco and proven to be one of the largest nickel deposits in the world, none of the additional millions of tie-on acres staked has yielded a major discovery. And this is after more than 10 years of exploration.

The same thing is going on in Saskatchewan now. At least a million acres have been staked in the last few months for uranium. Pretty exciting times. Unfortunately, all that ground requires $12/hectare in exploration expenditures to keep them in good standing. So they lapse and the beat goes on....
