yes..but the first season or two (ok..except for Justin G...) it seemed like the best talent made it. It's been dreadful for years. Simon leaving (to me) is a pretty big deal. Ellen is funny and all that, but she's not a music industry person. The show has just turned into crap, and I honestly think that's
why Simon is leaving.

What sucks is that it's a pretty easy fix. Change the judging as I mentioned, bring in high profile artists as guest judges (get rid of the assinine 'group sing' in the early rounds), and let real judges pick the Top 12. Then American can start voting on who they like the most.

Hell..it's even gotten to where it's not funny any more watching the really bad, dillusional 'yeah I can sing' people during the auditions.
