It's all about PERCEPTION.

As the buyer said:

"At the Washington County Sheriff's Department, we believe strongly in making our training as true to life as possible. In our testing of various firearms simulators, VirTra Systems' IVR HD(TM) simulators were by far the most immersive, realistic simulators available. The sense of being in the scenario was immediate and gripping in a way we haven't seen before," stated Washington County deputy and technology supervisor Ryan Larkin.

I think the real difference between VirTra and the competition is something that is very subtle: Perception.

VirTra uses real people in the video display vs computer simulations used by others. I have to say that the person experiencing this KNOWS the difference, at some level, and that their response is colored by this.

So I'm wondering if it is just a matter of time before VirTra becomes the dominant player in this industry, once everyone wakes up to the difference. It will take awhile. People hear about it, but it isn't until they experience it that they become believers.

All VirTra has to worry about is some larger company figuring this out and developing similar products.

This is not to say that the synthetic environment will not sell. It is probably cheaper than what VirTra uses, but I think over time the industry will realize the competitive advantage that VirTra really has.
