DO YOU KNOW WHAT LIVING OFF THE GRID MEANS?.........it means you have no electricity........many people who use tankless water heaters where i live, either from solar or propane, because they have no power........you can actually get a 30% tax credit if you buy a propane or solar tankless heater........people use solar panels, deep cell batteries, hyrdro power and propane where I live......beleive me, not one person i know has an electric tankless h2o heater........and you're wrong, propane is considered a clean burning renewable fuel....87% of the propane used in the U.S. is produced here....there's a link at bottom that explains this.......actually propane gas is quite inexpensive compared to gasoline......where i live unleaded fuel, gasoline, cost $3.35 a gallon....on the other hand propane is $2.86.......about 50 cents cheaper per gallon........also it's much more effiecient and it comes straight from the good old USA.......the Obama administration is actually pushing for natural gas, propane, exploration as a way of alleviating our dependence on foreign oil........electric will never compete w/ propane tankless h20 heaters........do some research and you'll see what i'm talking about$$$.....NOT ONE MENTION OF A MICROWAVE HEATER IN ALL MY RESEARCH.......check these links........for some reason links did't work, but the info. is there on the web.............http://tedjohnsonpropane.com/frequently-asked-questions-about-propane/where-does-propane-come-from/............link ......................http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_price_per_gallon_of_propane_in_northern_California........link ......................................................................http://www.consumersearch.com/water-heaters/review.........link ..................................................................http://www.consumersearch.com/water-heaters/types-of-water-heaters........................link
