OT...Amsterdam, The Netherlands - Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) today announced that it has sold its total holding of 32,265,561 shares in Vivendi Universal (Paris: 12777.PA and NYSE:V). The transaction, which closed yesterday, will provide Philips with proceeds of approximately EUR 720 million, and will result in a non-taxable gain of approximately EUR 300 million in the fourth quarter. Prior to this transaction, Philips' holding represented approximately 3.0 percent of Vivendi Universal's outstanding shares.
