yeah..uhm..we get enough of the 'american pubic' opinion when it comes down to voting. I think keeping more credible judges will stop the Sanjaya Effect.
And I STILL think that the top 12 should NOT be chosen by America. There should be a rotating panel of high quality, music oriented judges to whittle down the top 24 to the top 12. That way, it's ONLY the cream of the crop..THEN, turn it over to the public.
sorry..but AI has turned into a parody of itself, and a shill system for whats left of the flailing record industry that refuses to modify their outdated paradigms. And, depending on how the show is edited, you only get to see what the producers WANT you to see, and that sways the opinions of people watching. Sorry..but the overt manipulation is too much.
Thankfully, the Clarkson's and Daughtry's still get the break they deserve (and I really love Kelly's last stuff..very well produced and written and performed)...but really..of all the 'winners'...where are they now? Fantasia has dissapeared, Ruben is nowhere, even the grey haired 'soul' dude ended up in a really lousy theater touring thing.
I honestly think that's why Simon has had enough. X-Factor will find that great, undiscovered talent, and it will be up to highly qualified judges to pick deserving winners.
