MIKE PIKE PRODUCTIONS INC (U-MIKP) - News Release
Mike The Pike Productions Secures Officer Assistance for Assignment: www.CopSwap.org

2010-01-26 09:15 ET - News Release

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/26/10

Mike The Pike Productions, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: MIKP) New Media division has successfully organized a focus group of police officers from Los Angeles, Fort Wayne and Chicago for a commitment to provide feedback on a semi-weekly basis for www.CopSwap.org (formerly theCopSwap.com), MTP's premier community website geared toward Law Enforcement officials (LEOs) and Civilians with interest in the field.

Their first session was held yesterday at MTP's Fort Wayne home office with one of the original founders of The Cop Swap, Fort Wayne Police Officer Jonathan Horne who originally developed the concept with another officer as a web auction site geared toward Sworn Officers from every branch of Law Enforcement including Police Officers, U.S. Marshalls, Sheriff's Departments, DEA, FBI and ATF to name a handful. "The concept is simple, but the need is underserviced, with over 1 million law enforcement officials, most of which will, more than once, have the need to get rid of used equipment, clothing, weaponry, etc. in exchange for an upgrade, new size or what have you," states Horne. "More so, you can't buy a baton on eBay. You can't buy a baton on craigslist. But you can buy a baton, or a gun, or ammunition, or a bullet proof vest, flashlights, pepper spray, etc. on CopSwap through a detailed verification process the site requires for Law Enforcement Officers."

MTP plans to slowly grow the private beta users over the next few weeks as Newbauer and MTP New Media President Tim Bredemeyer oversee the site to completion by Spring 2010. Bredemeyer comments, "It's important to note -- when you visit the site now, you will land, not on the planned Home page, but rather on the Auction feature of the website which is currently being tested by our focus group and open to anyone and everyone to register for signup request as it's completed. We've decided, for the sake of shareholders, it would be best to release the site in phases, so as to demonstrate the progress as it happens, capturing opt-in user data through registration requests all the while."

The team strives for the site to become the best of the best in its category. Bredemeyer explains, "Because of our dedication towards creating a site focused around their needs, www.copswap.org will not only stand out from our competition but will be widely used by police officers and civilians, creating a large market base of users to overcome our competitors. In addition, we are implementing an aggressive grass-roots and online marketing campaign, additional profit portals and overall improved usability and aesthetic appeal."

The current market leader, www.Officer.com, owned by Cygnus Business Media, is a site the Focus Group unanimously agrees that, despite the fact that they use the site from time to time, it's "a (expletive) eyesore at best," according to one member.

Bredemeyer continues, "CopSwap will be crisp and clean, user-friendly with creative, effective ad placement and additional sources of revenues such as auction success fees, FFL, ammo and firearm kickback fees from retailers, original merchandise, services, subscriptions and mobile phone applications. Officer.com, with a model to greatly improve upon, has none of these elements; yet they average over 600,000 visitors per month which can be translated, conservatively, to roughly $400,000+ in annual revenue. We'll be releasing our three-year projections for CopSwap soon as final elements and proposed tech add-ons are researched and tested for market viability."

The site will be continually developed to completion and changes may occur consistently throughout the day at times. Over the next week, visitors can expect to see the implementation of an official logo, additional auction items and the initiation of additional site components and features. This site will be extensive and serve not only a niche audience with Sworn Law Enforcement Officials, but also a robust selection of information and activities for Civilians such as Crime Tip reporting, events, evidence auctions, News, Videos, Games, Quizzes and Q&A with officials from various branches of service. "The goal here is to create a site with a prestige and exclusivity factor for LEOs while building bridges between civilians and the LEO community via education and interaction," states Mark B. Newbauer, MTP CEO/President.

"www.CopSwap.org is in its infancy stages as we only recently acquired the IP. We then took the basic concept and decided it would be best as an added-value to a comprehensive site for Officers and Civilians alike. The added-value here is significant because there are a handful of auction sites that cater to selling police clothing and gear; however, there are no sites, to date, that serve as an overall Officer community featuring the previously mentioned competitive advantages that will be part of www.CopSwap.org. A big one being the ability to sell Firearms, ammunition and other enforcement gear on the auction site," says Newbauer.

He continues, "We are partnering with both ammunition retailers and Firearm brokers to provide both 'get it now' and 'bid on it' stores and auctions, and will be electing a board of directors for CopSwap which will include Police Officers and otherwise. MTP is also in the process of contracting with and/or listing services for/from multiple FFL (Federal Firearms Licensed) dealers so as to be the one and only comprehensive niche Law Enforcement Community site with the ability to sell Firearms. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Agency has set forth a strict policy in which firearms ordered via mail order and online, among other methods, must pass through an FFL dealer for interstate transfer in order to be legally transacted."
