If the refreshment cycle is 3 years, with your model, the customer would have to buy 300K Eras licenses in 9 years, although he only has 100k machines in the company...

Over a period of 9 years, if the company bought 300k machines, yes, common sense dictates they would be buying 300k ERAS licenses.

I think if this is done as you suggest, then the ERAS licenses (server-based) for x number of seats have to be renewed every so many years, like every three years, which would have a similiar effect to what I am assuming by putting it onto the client. But neither you nor awk have suggested a license renewal in this discussion, you seem to be saying ERAS for x number of seats is good for x number of seats forever. I don't think so.
