Nice trade on the SFI preferreds. Colored me spoiled as well. 96% gains in 08' and 100+% in 2009 puts a lot of pressure on 2010.
And thank goodness for preferreds. A whole new world for me. Trying to remember how I got turned on to them as I think 2008 was the first year I ever owned any. Anyway a gift from heaven or canine karma bonds maturing for me.
BTW, I am in the process of building a portfolio of REIT preferreds. I think we see some real opportunities come up there.
Speaking of canine karma bonds...back in December I posted about being able to buy some dog food cheap from the local Ace warehouse that they were closing out. Good stuff - Pedigree brand. I posted I donated 900+ cans or so to a local shelter - I bought all they had left.
Well, I ended up through myself (another 3000 cans for me)and getting a few other dealers to do the same being served from other warehouses distributing about 15,000 cans ( all the remaining cans they had in 3 other warehouses) all together to shelters in IL, OH, MI, and VA.
