I just listened to Obama talking about Iran. A question came to mind. Do you have a greater fear of your own government OR a foreign power? He said that was the terrible situation in Iran. I think it is the terrible situation right here in The United States of America. If it is not, it should be.
Thomas Jefferson said this. "When the people fear the government there is tyranny. When the government fears the people there is liberty." Our government has shown that it has nothing but contempt for the people. Our government's view of the people is that they are ignorant sheep that need to be forced, protected, and provided for. The terrible truth is that for a large part of our society they are right. A large portion of our society looks to government to tell them what to do, protect them, and provide their livelihood.
Do not forget that when our revolution against the tyranny of Great Britain took place only 30% of the people were for it. 30% of the people were against it and 30% didn't care. "We the People" who believe in liberty may be less than 30% today so it raises our responsibility. 2010 can be pivotal in the history of our country. I have a responsibility and so do you.
