During the "run" I didn't know a single person who took their money out of WAMU. People loved that bank. Most people who I know that have Chase now actually don't like the change. They're grandfathered into their accounts, but if any of the other banks wanted to "compete" I'd say Chase would be smart to buy WMI just to keep the name on this coast. Here in Sonoma County, Exchange Bank is the local bank and Frank Doyle placed 51% of his banks stock into a trust that has it's dividends pay for student scholorships at SRJC. It also keeps the bank independent. They even have a motto..."don't get chased away" (LOL):)
