I never understand why guys on boards get angry at other people who try to buy at or near the bid. If the stock is active enough that you're likely to get filled eventually, why would you want to pay more than you need to? I almost never pay the ask when I want to build a large position, or sell at the bid when I'm trying to sell a large position.
