HP can turn to NSM & dictate that NSM incorporate an Infineon TSS..........but a couple of things in our favour so far....
1.NSM's SuperI/O announcement mentioned Wave & IBM as Safekeeper software application providers.
"Industry Standards and Partnerships National developed its Trusted I/O devices to meet the Trusted Computing Group's TPM 1.1b specification. TCG developed these specifications with industry-leading system, silicon and software providers to create standard interfaces and interoperability between hardware and software layers. These industry standard interfaces allow National to partner with security software developers such as IBM and Wave Systems Corp. to offer customers multiple software solutions that work in conjunction with National’s integrated hardware."
2.NSM's comments on NTRU's TSS in NTRU'a P.R.
"The NTRU TSS and National's Trusted I/O initiative, which integrates the TPM into existing PC devices such as Super I/O, meets the unique requirements of companies who must quickly and efficiently deploy trusted computing applications across a wide variety of platforms,” said Todd D. Whitaker, director of strategic marketing for National Semiconductor’s Advanced PC division."
3.NSM listing Wave & NTRU on their Safekeeper site as Third Party Support.
4.ST Micro using NTRU's TSS instead of Infineon's.
Let's say as NSM has reported your next targets were HP & DELL.If HP & DELL turn around & say sure we will consider your integrated SuperI/O but only if you use an Infineon TSS,as that's what our existing/future application software uses.
NSM would then licence Infineon's TSS & TPM management software as Broadcom has,& go after that market.
As the evidence above supports,NSM is going in a NTRU/Wave ETS direction so one can only conclude It's what the PC OEM's want to deploy.
