I think you're right about that. It would make perfect sense. That's what I would do if I was planning on buying back shares...make sure the PPS stays as low as possible.
Let's say that they buy back a little bit at a time until they get their desired target (500M for a guess). If he cancelles them all at once, that would drive the PPS up. Then we could see a jump in one day. It wouldn't be much, but at least it would be a step in the right direction.

And if he is using the business funds to buy back shares, but personally owns shares, that would make him richer without him having to spend a dime if he owns many millions of shares which he probably does.
