In response to this : "Looks to me that those bonds are trading in the $90 range. Isn't the face value of bonds $1000?

That would mean that these are trading at between 9%-10% of value.", that is an inaccurate description of the way they trade.

When a bond is trading at $90, that means it is trading at 90% of face and not 9%.
