Hi Ken, ...New Wall Street Tax?

The headline of this article caught my attention:

Here is a brief excerpt:
The AFL-CIO, one of the Democratic Party’s most powerful allies, would like to assess a small tax — about a tenth of a percent — on every stock transaction.


It doesn't seem like a great idea to have to pay tax every time one buys or sells stocks. Also, those taxes usually start off small, but the percentages tend to get bigger over time.
