I have one place in Roatan and it is free and clear. I plan to put it on the market when it becomes clear that the communists were defeated. I think buyers will again appear but you can not really borrow money there. They get 11-13 percent on home loans there. If I can borrow here and buy for cash there I should have the upper hand if I can do owner financing. I could charge 10 percent and double my cash flow. If I ask 30 percent down I can just take the property back and sell it again if I do not get paid. It is easy to foreclose down there.
