Thanks for sharing. I did not know that about Texas.
I am interested in your point about a conflict of interest- I had never thought about it that way.

Again, for the record, I really do think that something needs to be done with our health care system. The costs are outrageous.
But I think socializing it is the absolute worst idea for many reasons (First of all it gives WAY to much control to an already bloated Federal govt. Second, NOTHING the govt does is cheaper than the private sector.)

I do believe that the rise of the HMOs is a large part of why it is so damn expensive here....
