Nicholas Toms - A US citizen, Nic graduated from New York University with an LL.M and then joined the iconic law firm Skadden Arps Slate Meagher and Flom, where he worked on a variety of complex merger assignments. Since 1983 he has been a successful investor in, and manager of, a number of businesses. He is well recognized as the co-founder of bar code systems company Peak Technologies, which he and associates bought into in 1987, when its revenues were only $5 million, and which he grew internally and via multiple acquisitions to revenues in 1997 of $300 million, selling the business in that year for $270 million. Nic currently serves as CEO of decisionpoint systems, Inc. (formerly Creative Concepts Holding, Inc.), iTEK Services, Inc. and Cape Systems Group, companies that are involved in enterprise mobility and software solutions and services. He is also a non-executive director of Strategic Workforce Solutions, Inc. Nic possesses a wealth of hands-on experience in building up significant businesses from modest beginnings.
Jan Pilkington-Miksa - A UK citizen, Jan is the co-founder (1990) of the Ferghana Partners Group, an investment banking firm headquartered in New York City which is one of the leading independent providers of strategic transaction advice to companies in the life sciences industry. From 1988 to 1990 he was a director of Merrill Lynch in their mergers and acquisitions group in London. From 1974 to 1988 he was a founding partner of the David Allsopp Group (later McKinley Allsopp, Inc.), a stockbroking and investment banking firm active in New York and London. Jan started his career in the City of London with S.G.Warburg and Co. Ltd., merchant bankers, in 1968. He is a graduate of Eton College and has an M.A. from King’s College, Cambridge.
Since 2002, serving mainly as a private investor and non-executive director, he has specialized in the provision of practical business and financial advice to the principals/senior management of emerging growth businesses, in readying these companies to attract outside capital, and in the production of articulate and persuasive business plans and private placement memoranda. Jan is a director of L.I.(EU) Limited, decisionpoint systems, Inc.(formerly Creative Concepts Holding, Inc.) and iTEK Services, Inc.
