Another thing I would do is find a big bogey man like Climate Change to beat the people into allowing me to make treaties with foreign entities that would never be allowed other wise. Through these treaties I could circumvent the Constitution. The people are unaware of the power of treaties over the constitution so they will blindly follow my lead. Through them I could legalise and accomplish things illegal under the Constitution alone.
Oh yes, it will work like a charm. The only thing I would fear is the power of the Internet to inform the people. If I could come up with a way to control the Internet my task would be very simple. Knowledge is power and the pen is a mighty tool. I would need an Internet czar to begin work on this. Control of the Internet will have to be presented as protection for the people. This needs some thought. I would appoint a select group of those like minded progressives who share the same vision I do to study the problem.
