Nice to know loyalty is still worth something.

I just cannot figure how some banks can show payments immediately, and some take days. When you say they cannot charge you if the money is there before the due date, that's the hitch. It is not always when you transfer it (not in your case, of course). It is when they can post/process it.
I have never paid a late fee. I made a payment online to B of A on a Thursday. It was due on Monday. Usually I pay weeks in advance, but I had been traveling. They 'posted' the payment on Tuesday! I called and asked how come it took so long. They said that's how long it always takes. (I never noticed because I always paid so far in advance...so much for a good history here.)
I fought with them for five months because, even though I paid on time each subsequent month, the late fee stared me in the face every month and was accumulating because of some high interest rate attached to it. I asked why I cannot just pay the late fee and have it removed. They gave me some cock-a-mamie new rule that keeps the late fee showing up indefinitely. I spoke with just about every type of supervisor there, and finally had it removed. Funny thing was they all thought it was wrong, but they could not remove it. The final person did not seem to have any problem removing it.

I won't even get started on Chase's practices. /-:
