Once they have the persons baseline number then they scan to detect the inflammation, looking for variances from that individuals baseline number is. The baseline number varies from person to person. This establishment of the baseline has to do with these variances between individuals body temperatures that article discusses. It seems from reading that other site, Dr. Lee and the BioHarp have found a way to work around these variances through the intial establishment of the baseline number that the product you found doesn't have.
