You can get this award for many reasons.

"Hey, I'm seven days, now, into a new novel - do I qualify for the Nobel Literature Prize?"

Don't know..have you finished it?

"If you're sending kudos, then surely you must have some idea of what he did to deserve the award. Otherwise, you'd be able to say he did nothing, and does not deserve it, rather than dodging the issue."

Once again I think Obama is just as shocked as the rest of us.
