There are many who only like to trade sub-penny, and there are others who won't touch it until it's a penny.
The first, mostly because of the fun element - a rise of .0001 can be a 10% change in your account if the stock is trading in the triple zeros. That provides an easy rush.
The second, because traders are looking for a bit more stability.
We are presently in the DMZ - no man's land. Some triple zero people are getting out (or have already gotten out) and looking for their next triple zero play, while the penny plus buyers aren't here yet.
This is traditionally a slow, painful transition, and the MMs scoot down to escort the buyers to a lower price to sell. As the buyers dry up, the scoot down gets less and less.
THis is when sone incipient penny players will come in, reckoning to enter before the penny players start.
It's a transition period, and I must admit, in my 2 decades of trading, I have NEVER seen so many sub-penny traders holding on to go into the pennies.
This could become a MONSTER.
