Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Crude oil futures prices ended little changed Thursday as fresh fourth-quarter buying interest countered contradictory signals about the strength of the U.S. economy. Light, sweet crude oil for November delivery settled up 21 cents at $70.82 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the highest level since Sept. 22. Crude traded in a range of $69.13 to $71.39 a barrel, after jumping 5.8% on Wednesday in the biggest rise since April 2.
