Forgive me for being a newbie, but I've been reading the posts about WAMU. I called my broker last night and inquired about the bankruptcy proceedings. I was told that once WAMU goes through bankruptcy, trading will stop on WAMU and the shares will be worth 0. Any further trading on WAMU would be done under a different stock symbol.

Is this true? And if so, why is there so much excitement over this stock that is going into bankruptcy?

Again, forgive me for being a newbie, but I would appreciate clarity on this issue as I was looking to invest in WAMU.

Thank you.
