AIG did a reverse split recently. Last I checked they're doing fine. Typically a reverse split is done to reduce the amount of outstanding shares without reducing the value of the stock.

For instance, you have 1,000 shares worth $0.10 each. R/S 10 to 1 means you now have 100 shares worth $1.00 each.

Reverse splits are only negative is there is no underlying value in the stock. For example, some stocks trade at 0.0001 when are essentially worth nothing, so when they reverse split, the fewer shares still trade at .0001. We don't have to worry about that since EVFL is actually undervalued at its current price, even with the large number of outstanding shares.
