With the highest unemployment in decades...American tax dollars are going to pay Canadian workers salaries to make American cars.

There is good news from General Motors.

The car company is going to add workers and increase shifts at its Ontario and Ohio manufacturing plants because subsidies from US taxpayers under the Cash for Clunkers program have increased the demand for its cars.

It has been a long time since I've studied geography. But isn't Ontario still part of Canada?

So American taxpayers kicked in $4,000 so people could buy brand new cars and GM -- which also happens to now be owned by the US -- is going to increase employment in another country.

Maybe we should also help pay for new TV sets so people in Hong Kong can get back to work.
