Help! New computer problem
I just set up a new 'used' computer and had the first shutdown already today. It is a 1.2 Athlon with 256 Ram memory. It has an audio adapter with a powered speaker and I was seeing just how much I could do with it. I was listening to an internet radio station and had approximately 6 windows open, including a Chat room and several realtime updates. The computer glitched and then shut down. I recieved an error message and the computer locked up. I shut down but when I restarted I received a 'windows was not shut down properly message' and the scandisk would not finish it's task. The message stated 'STACKS Overflow, change STACKS setting in config.sys'. Does anyone know what this means and what the cause of the lockup was? I would appreciate any help. The computer is working fine right now but I am not in the chat room anymore and only have 4 windows open.
TIA, Bob :^)
