TEKNISA is a company established in 1997 by Mr. Anker Struve, a Danish citizen who is the president of the company. This company has a deep interest in the conservation of the rainforest and is working actively, in various ways, for the protection of the natural forest.

TEKNISA has acquired natural forest for conservation purpose and work closely with the authorities to extract the lumber on a sustainable basis. The company has established its own nursery, one of the most modern in Central America, and produces 60,000 plants per cycle. Yearly the plantation area is increased using (Teak) Tectona grandis, Gmelina arborea and other local species.

It also produces compost from organic materials obtained from the sawmill as well as producing manure with the use of earthworms.

Today TEKNISA is one of the leading forest industry companies in Nicaragua and employ from 80 to 100 people, contributing to the economical development of Nicaragua
