The record companies spent years trying to hold on to their old, failed paradigm of pushing physical product (CDs) down people's throats, and not embracing downloading and monetizing it. As if having the RIAA sue people would stem the tide. Laughable. They not only lost zillions, but now they are on their way out of business. EVEN if they try to somehow now embrace downloading, guess what? Streaming is coming right along to eat downloading's lunch. Check out Spotify. It will also pose a grave threat to satellite radio.
What's my point? What's the next thing in computing, that we're not even aware of yet, that could nullify everything Wave has built? Specious analogy? Perhaps, but never say never in this fast-forward world of tech.
