I hate airports! :( All: from a technical perspective heres whats going on with the website: hopefully halting any concerns.
Right now they are utilizing cloud architecture (the old site I believe was on a dedicated server).
They have moved the site to a new system that allows for unlimited expansion via the Rackspace Cloud and GoGrid.
Right now there is a dedicated system for web serving and dedicated system for SQL database, and content distribution spread out via CDN (as you or others may have noticed earlier on one of the maintenance pages it was hosted at a CDN, limelight networks via Rackspace.)
If further expansion is needed, the plan for action will be to distribute sql database hosting and web serving over multiple servers using f5 hardware load balancing (2x web servers distributing the load, and 2x sql servers distributing load).
Security right now for the databases uses AES256 (Rijndael) encryption, and the SSL is provided by thawte for transmission of data over secure channels (during ANY submission of data, even just the contact form). The server is undergoing PCI compliance testing and certification.
