I love the Briggs engine. When I was a kid we used the old push mowers that had a cutting blade powered by the wheels. When I finally talked my mother into a power mower it had a Briggs engine, and I would take ever piece of that engine apart for cleaning at the end of the season. Only the Piston rings and rods were left connected. Now I just abuse my Snapper with it's Briggs. My last Snapper which lasted 23 years had only a 5hp and the mechanic forgot to put oil in the crank and it froze up. He just turned it with a wrench and added oil. His advice was to always check your oil after a mechanic works on it. It still made another two or three seasons before I junked it.
