The idea of dealing 'ethically' and 'morally' is a non existent concept in Bolivia, both from a business and governance perspective.
It is a 3rd world country where the government has looted and thieved the people, resources, and anything else they can control through force and corruption.
American mining companies would assist greatly in bringing a much better life, though at the end of the day they are probably just tools of the corrupt leaders who could not ever produce a single thing themselves, and are desperate to find any outlet to continue their cash and power grab, at the expense of their poor and starving citizanry.
I may have misunderstood the point of your post, but it came across to me as you propping up that filth as noble and decent while taking a shot at American companies that risk much to bring a better standard of living, produce, and of course make money which is a good thing.
