I went to a school without those things. Another school, which was just beyond the boundry did.

Anyways, the last year I was at my school (Gr8) we actually walked to the other school - and one day a week (or every other week) for almost the year, we had shop class. For 4 weeks, during that period, instead of shop we had "home ec". Sewing a football (thanks mom!) and making pizza is what I remember.

When "home ec" is optional, it is considered "sissy girl stuff". But once you make it mandatory, the whole ballgame changes.

Bayview High school was mainly tech - shop; electrical; auto; drafting. Meanwhile, other schools don't have half of that. Why? Something wrong with that picture. But it isn't "little of this or that". Has to be LOTS of tech classes. And that is way overkill.

Balance is something most don't think of.
