OK Matt,
"What should be the next steps in their business strategy? How do signed contracts, become products (manufactured and paid for), how are products then delivered to the buyers and when (First quarter 2010?), when are the monies for these contracts realized and also obtained (after product is delivered and paid for or once manufactured based on contracts).
I would like to hear from people in the manufacturing clothing industry as well how a business normally accounts for this type of contract/manufacture/delivery format."
I am NOT in the fashion industry business so I cannot speak with expertise. My understanding is though that bookings/orders from these shows could be anywhere from that day to 1-2 months from the show. My understanding is shipment would be made during 4th quarter of this year to the wholesalers/retailers for late winter/spring showing in their stores.
As to what to do, obviously followup phone calls to all the interested reps should be done immediately to keep the relationship fresh. I'm sure the % success rate is much better in the next few weeks v the next few months.
From all I have read, INCA appears to be in the top tier of vendors at the show and ran a A+ party/viewing at the W! So my guess is we have PLENTY of potential customers. And when these customers see all the magazine coverage and celebs that have wore our product, they will be doubly interested to ink the deals.
As to figures, I have no idea. My guess is that our profit margins will be high, and revenue numbers will be impressive but not HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
The company will continue to grow and will be a prime prospect for takeover from a BIG FISH if the name begins to take off. Then Stacy will have her big decision
That is how I envision me retiring in 1-2 years with this!!
