The thing about the digitimes rumor that concerned me more was the 1.6Ghz top speed. A year more of engineering and an extra 2 metal layers, and only 7% improvement in speed? The 1.7Ghz with 14% speed improvement is still pretty anemic.

It would be worse than that - Madison 6M DP parts
have been shipping at 1.6 GHz for about 5 months
now IIRC.

IMO that's makes the rumor even more implausible.
