I was not here Friday to hear IBC Radio's StockTalkLive! but a known caller has constantly slagged CMKX. His name is Slim and he's a long time caller and has been an investor in IBC in the past to best of knowledge still is. Sarcastic to the bone I doubt I have heard him say a good word about CMKX. I'm guessing but this is likely who you are in reference too. He is overall perhaps the host's favourite caller , topical brash biting sarcasm he provokes listeners to call in with his stinging opinionated criticism. Indeed I believe he made a good fast dollar from flipping CMKX. The moderators JUST LOVE this guy. Good successful experienced trader bigotted but most importantly CONTROVERSIAL

As far as moderators ahem ("reporters") they are not good resource investors and were lethargically (sloth like) slow to come around on the potential of CMKX because of the unknown share structure and to them at least suspicious volume. Fair enough they have to alert there investors and audience to a possible scam where in the pinks is not uncommon. The moderator does not follow chat rooms yet by this time CMKX RB board was simply to fast to follow you'd think the show would have had a clue here?

They have though complained (in the past not Friday) that Melvin was calling in to much and did not offer to pay sponsorship to the show. Slim and (I suspected off air collusion here) coincidentally the host echoed those comments repeatedly both openly accusing Melvin of hitchhiking and/or freeloading on StockTalkLive! all while their call in rate soared stratospherically due to Melvin and the CMKX enigma. This is where CMKX was crossed by IBC IMHO and Melvin was not oblivious by any means to this shrewd managerial change up by StockTalkLive!.

Yet when no one later called in about CMKX including Melvin they wondered why the silence? What was that villain CMKX up to now?? Rank amateur ratings tactics I discovered a bias in the show towards fast buck daytraders (more on this later) that in fairness can do well in the pinks IF they know what the pitfalls are and take advantage of the slower less experienced small cap trader who always pays the price of inattentiveness.

I'm off the show lately far too much advertising and incredibly obnoxious advertising at that ; one in particular (Inventek) has me lunging frantically for the mute button constantly never mind the 2000 flushes millionaire. Who needs that rot when your trying to do any crucial last minute DD is my question? When calling in the line often goes unanswered in favour of recorded music or commercials. Suggestive to me that they subconcsciously screen for their favourite callers who dig up the latest hot play in a slow market that is pretty hard to come by right now. Either that or they are punching up the next commercial. Remember they (IBC) are an upstart broadcaster who desperately need ratings to expand in a highly competitive market niche.

At any rate hard to get on the show and when on your hustled off air so they can go to a break more often than not a commercial or dreadful canned music, news , recorded interview or who knows what... my point being it all gets to be a monstrous waste of my time.

Yet they do a very careful job of answering lengthy calls from there own IBC investors, I think that will get IBC in hot water with regulators because it's during trading hours hope I'm wrong for their sake. In the beginning the show was very good but relentless infuriating commercials and an apparent caller selection process have me judging the show more critically than anything else these days. Unfortunate because they seemed to have a very good thing going. They are extremely good listeners when they choose to be which is all to rare for my liking these days. Bet your bottom dollar when CMKX moves they'll be ALL over it we'll be right in the StockTalkLive! limelight. Till then we are passe , chopped liver, last hour's news let's move on to the next story or corny commercial kind of thing.

I find the host more opinionated than ever nearing an election which seems off topic, that coupled with far too many commercials , seemingly screened callers, to me the show has lost much of it's appeal and therefore usefulness. Clearly there is a lack of understanding and empathy by the show for resource investing in my experience. Once the host bitterly recalled how he was burned by resource investing and does not consider it his favourite play.

Hopefully that might change as this correction produces safe harbor for resource investors from yet another tech wreck. I have complained loudly and vehemently the show has far too much advertising. Their response was more commercials and a heavy biased political leaning which is of very great disappointment given what the show was designed for and could be in the future given better direction.

In the beginning the show purposely made a VERY big joke out of CMKX trying to provocate some callers to call in. Most definitely the object of a new kid on the block type chiding irreverance to it's potential. I strongly feel that the hosts thought CMKX would bite the dust like so many other pinks before it. The moderators knowing they were heading into summer doldrums just played CMKX for all the on air antics it was worth. Point of fact the show was broadsided by CMKX's unusual strategy they clearly did not grasp the methodology Urban was employing IMHO they did not have the foggiest clue what Urban was up to. Very biting and satirical poking of fun at CMKX then labelling it as a drafter in a possible "QBID Effect". That I found way over the top and thrusting directly to the CMKX jugular. Shock jock stock CROCK and rank amateur reporting.

Now of course as "reporters" they are able to change their opinion 180 degrees and have done so that is the nature of the business present "the story" up to the minute breaking news. Obviously it's their show they can say what they want about CMKX and indeed have come full circle since initiating CMKX coverage. The satire is a tool to get callers to phone in and make the show interesting the more feedback the more gauge for the listener wanting to buy. I find the host's lack of depth in understanding of resource stocks an obstacle to open conversation the satire nauseatingly boorish and repetitive, the advertising unbearably far to frequent, infuriatingly loud and obnoxious. They do not slam CMKX as much now notice but any stock that breaks from the mold can expect to get chastized by IBC Radio's StockTalkLive! As CMKX did by not declaring it's share structure and it's curious record volume the unusual play became first rate show content. The show's ugly duckling became the IBC swan stock. It's premiere topic for weeks and weeks.

This was simply a tactic to get listeners to call in NOTHING MORE IMHO. I think several new tactics are in order if IBC ratings are to improve though. StockTalkLive! caters to the quick buck experts in daytrading as it's always fashionable to make some fast "easy" money and good for the show's ratings and the herd mentality (Momo). There is a synergy in that combination which is fiendishly opportunistic yes , but is utilized to the fullest to push their products relentlessly.

From this quick buck hype StockTalkLive! is selling a plethora of products. A newsletter stock advisory service , a satellite receiver to hear the show live instead of a highly buffered webcast , subscriber paid for bitstreamed content faster than it's highly buffered webcast a VOIP cellphone that webcasts it's show and a multitude of other incidental retailer's products to obscure to mention. I seriously question IBC's insurmountable problems with webcasting to too many listeners. I believe it's more opportunistic hype , a ploy to sell more weird and wonderful tech gadgetry.

Through all this split-second hype and latest last minute must have gadgetry along comes some hick from the Canadian sticks diamond miner no one ever heard of. In comes Urban with a new CEO twist which was novel, topical, and controversial. In reality resource investing lends itself more to value based investing it's not as fashionable or fast paced for the audience so there is that lack of listener appeal that will very likely always leave some friction between CMKX and the StockTalkLive! moderators I dare say most resource stocks may feel maligned by the show.

StockTalkLive and it's stockolders do continue to bash CMKX bet your portfolio on that one but since it's made it's move not nearly so much satire now it has gained some status from it's once sneered and often taunted at .0001 PPS . Paradoxically CMKX is now no longer sexy enough for the fast paced requirement IBC needs to move it's products and services ...until it has another explosive run which I believe to be very close at hand. IBC moderators charade as "reporters" but just like any other electronic information IBC relies heavily on ratings to sell it's advertising. The hosts are experienced and apparently successful investors but in terms of reporting I feel they could use a profound amount more polish and less shock jock strategy, that's their business not mine.

CMKX got a lot of mileage out of IBC and I highly commend Melvin for knowing when to hold up and when to fold up, seeing these guys for what they were (Joel included) he nonchalantly waltzed over a very intimidatingly high tightrope and IMHO traversed exceedingly well given the circumstances.

Don't get me wrong CMKX did well by StockTalkLive! but that largely was due to a wiley IR officer in Melvin Oneil who was very warey of a hidden agenda by IBC Radio. I wish the show well understand but the format has drastically fallen out of favour with this listener. They would do far better improving on their reporting skills meeting their listeners needs instead of sensationalistic and opportunistic pumping of stocks to meet their own marketing agenda.
