Maybe, i missed this prediction being posted.

IFNNY win for sure (good for IDCC), but the Netbook is not a "phone", how does "fixed fee royalty bearing" work here? Maybe we will finally find out?

Apple to Ship Netbook by Year End

By Chip Brian, SmarTrend Analytics Team

Daiwa Securities analyst Calvin Huang issued a note where he predicted that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will launch a so called "netbook" later this year. The netbook will be a 10" laptop with a touch screen and use parts from a number of Taiwan-based firms in addition to components from Infineon (NASDAQ:IFNNY). The announcement could come at the WWDC conference in San Francisco which kicks off today in San Francisco. Investors are expecting the Cupertino-based firm to launch new versions of its popular iPhone but the introduction of a netbook could be a major catalyst as the company has been criticized for not offering a lower-cost version of its Macbook to compete with the likes of Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) and Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) for market share in the low- to mid-range end of the consumer electronics space.

On September 6, 2007, Interdigital, Inc. (IDCC) and its subsidiaries (including InterDigital Communications LLC) signed a worldwide, non-transferable, non-exclusive, fixed-fee royalty-bearing patent license agreement with Apple Inc. Under the seven-year license agreement, InterDigital granted a license to Apple under InterDigital's patent portfolio covering "the current iPhone and certain future mobile phones, if any."
