pavlath...Your summary is the one that makes sense to me, too. I have been talking to several Scwab reps about the rules & feel confident that my shares arent shorted somewhere. Also I paid attn to the casual wording I was hearing....like the request for shares recently would indicate some entity needed shares to conform to regulations....that was their quote.

So maybe some authority is actually monitoring our trading & enforcing the rules.
