The information Weets just found is very important.

The Army now allows the purchase of the new encrypted drives for laptops. It's optional as once TPMs were optional. There will be a slow rise in purchases at $7 for Wave. After a time period - optional will become mandatory.

I'll also note having looked at the Excel spreadsheet that it includes (optionally) the choice not only for lightweight laptops, but Mainstream, ruggardized. Click the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

And lastly, the spreadsheet specifically notes the TCG Opal Standard so congrats to the leadership team that has worked on getting this done for so many years. And still it moves - TTT

Sceptics may say, but they don't need to manage the keys with ERAS. That's what we're betting about! That's why I bought some of my shares in the 30 - 50 cent range.

The marketing strategy seems to be "Build it and eventually, they HAVE to turn it on" This spreadsheet announces that Stage 1 TPMs mandatory is done. Stage 2 is encrypted drive purchase Optional. Stage 3. to come encrypted drives will be mandatory so get ahead of the curve if you can. Then, I believe, on a parallel track the IT centers should be working on the issue of okay -- how do we manage the keys for this new option. We could ignore it for the TPMs, but can we ignore it now? What if the key gets lost? Can anybody change a key, but us? Does the IT guy have the ability to remotely erase the disk if it's lost?
