On 13 August, 2004, the mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov signed orderabout the adoption under the state protection of more than hundredarchitectural ensembles, the monuments of old times, the works of sculpture, in order to ensure their safety and proper use. They are related to the objects of the cultural heritage of regionalvalue and they will be included in united state list. Among the monuments of history and culture - Gus -1 JOINT STOCKCOMPANY of "Mosenergo - Moscow Regional Administration of Power SystemManagement".
Gus -1 by them. P.G. Smidovicha, previously MoGES (Moscow urban power station) - oldest of thenynedeystvuyushchikh power stations of Russia. It was put into use on 28 November, 1897, on the order of emperorAleksandr III. In the design of building participated great Russian architect IvanZholtovskiy. MoGES became the first Moscow station, which illuminated city, it supplied its transport economy and industry with electric power. Specifically, from this power station, the located in the center capital, the creation of Moscow power system began.
The today installed capacity of power station is 72,7 MW. Gus -1 ensures the central region of Moscow with thermal andelectrical energy, including - Kremlin, State Duma, Old and Lubyanka areas. Today Gus -1 - one of the very ecologically clean stations OF JOINTSTOCK COMPANY "Mosenergo - Moscow Regional Administration of PowerSystem Management". The natural gas is used as the basic and reserve fuel on it. The unique boiler of domestic manufacture is established at thestation, which is the best boiler in its class. It is considerably more effective than foreign analogs according tothe ecological indices, and its productivity is one and a half times higher. In recent years on Gus -1 to 90% is substituted electrotechnicalequipment, unique water-treatment installation is inculcated, instead of the old turbogenerators are established new, developed on the quite advanced technologies. All this allowed enterprise to considerably improve technologicalprocess. In 2004 the introduction of the new turbine No 29 is planned with apower of 12 MW.
Building on The raushskoy embankment rightfully is acknowledged as theobject of cultural heritage. The history of station is tightly connected with the history of ourcountry. Building Gus -1 was the witness of revolutions, it survived two world wars, fires and flood. Last large flood occurred in the beginning of past century. In the memory about this event at the entrance to the station into thewall is embedded metallic plate with the inscription "the level ofspring vod". 12 April 1908.».
Special document will be designed with obtaining of status of themonument of culture to the building of power station and memorableboard is placed. According to new status, JOINT STOCK COMPANY of "Mosenergo - Moscow Regional Administration ofPower System Management" is obligated to agree on all changes, being concerned Gus -1, with the main administration of the protection of the monuments ofMoscow.
