Amount of stocks to trade..?

A question I have had for awhile. I presently trade 1000 shares at a time. I am thinking of changing it to 500 shares, in order to catch more cycles.

Is it better to trade more shares and catch fewer cycles, or fewer shares catching more cycles....??
