I have/had a credit card from Providian which turned into a Washington Mutual credit card when they took it over. Since the corrupt doings of JPM the card changed to a Chase credit card, which I have not applied anymore debt to. I was out of town last week and went to rent a car and use may Chase card for the rental and they said the card was declined. I called Chase and they said that my original Providian/Washington Mutual card was no good as of 4-30-09 and that I needed to apply for a new card with Chase. My card was current on payments per them but needed to apply for a new card with them.

I am wondering if JPM/Chase is making me re-apply because they know that they are not going to own the credit card company in the future??

My payments go to Chase now and I have paid off the card and closed it with some profits from my Wamu investments which make me smile that much more knowing that they have helped me payoff the card with their screw up!

Anyone else here of this or have problems their credit card from Providian/Wamu?Chase??
